Divercity Announces Landmark Acquisition of 1,600 Residential Units in Sunninghill

In a historic move for South Africa’s multifamily residential sector, the leading investor in affordable rental housing, Divercity Property Group has acquired 1,600 residential units from Africrest Properties in Sunninghill, Johannesburg. The transaction marks one of the largest single acquisition of residential stock between private companies in the country’s history.
 

The milestone transaction underscores the increasing institutional investor interest in the multifamily residential asset class and highlights the sector’s growing transaction activity.
 

Africrest is a multifamily residential property developer specialising in owning, re/developing, and managing commercial and residential properties. It has pioneered the conversion of office buildings into high-quality apartments, contributing significantly to the urban vibrancy of high-demand residential areas like Sunninghill.
